|Big Lake School District 727 joins TIES|
8/27/2012 10:27 AM(St. Paul, MN – August 27, 2012) TIES today announced that Big Lake School District 727 has joined TIES education technology cooperative.
Located in central Minnesota, Big Lake has 3,500 students in two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
“We moved to TIES because its Student Information System and staff development opportunities help us meet several of our key strategic directions,” said Superintendent Jonathan Miller. “The TIES system lets us put academic, behavior and demographic data quickly into the hands of teachers so we can integrate data and targeted instruction.”
Big Lake will be using TIES Student Information System and Cognos data warehouse to manage its student data and support decision-making. It also will be using TIES Tests and Assessments and Personalized Learning to focus on keeping students on track for academic achievement. As a member of TIES, the district will also receive unlimited technology training for teachers and administrators on such subjects as using interactive white boards, multimedia for class projects and collaboration tools.
“We are excited to work with Big Lake in pursuit of our mission to improve student learning,” said Betty Schweizer, TIES Executive Director. “Forward-leading districts such as Big Lake strengthen our consortium and increase our effectiveness.”
