iContent speed and efficiency valued Using TIES iContent documents and records management solution has made Judy Johnson’s job so much easier that she “can’t say enough good things about it.” Richfield’s district media center secretary loves how iContent lets her get answers right away to graduation verification and other school district record inquiries. “The speed and efficiency of verifying graduation is the big one,” Johnson said.
Before the district moved to iContent, she would have to go to the file cabinets, pull the microfilm out, go to the microfilm machine and turn it on, then go through the film to find the student. Meanwhile, the person seeking the verification was waiting on the phone. “This would take maybe five to 10 minutes,” Johnson recalled. “If I didn’t find it within five minutes, I’d have to go back to the phone and explain I would need to do more looking and would have to call them back. “Now, I can just put a last name into the system and all those names come up instantly. I can then search by first name, birth date or student number and find it right away.” With Richfield being a member of the TIES education technology consortium, “it was a natural fit to use iContent,” said Johnson.
